My Blog
My Blog
A blog entry after ages!
It's been huge gap between the last entry and this, so I thought it was time for a bit of an update.
I suppose the headlines are that Joe and me are going strong after 2 1/2 years, that I have been working as a comms manager at CQC for a year and that I formed a football team, Bexley Invicta FC, nearly five months ago. Setting up and running the football club is one reason why I have been too busy to write this blog or update this website much.
So, what's happening with me this weekend? Today, I feel very tired and so don't want to do too much. Being me, I won't lie around doing nothing (perhaps I should!), so I'll probably do some domestics and some research on the Internet. Two things I want to do fairly soon are redecorate my living room and get laser treatment for my shortsightedness and longsightedness. Otherwise, it's dinner this evening with Joe (steak - yum!) and football tomorrow.
A blog should talk about issues and opinions, right? So, what do I think about anything? I am on tenterhooks to hear what Bexley Council say next about the Erith Western Gateway, which is an area of Erith town centre. The Council have proposed allowing developers to build on the Riverside Gardens and build loads of blocks of flats, up to seven stories high, over the road from the Gardens. As you can imagine, from my description, I am opposed to these ideas. But then, so is every last person I have spoken to who lives in Erith. It really will be a scandal if the plans go ahead along the lines proposed. Bexley Council - listen to the aspirations of Erithians and be led by our local voices. It's our town, so do not do allow change that is against our wishes. Nuff said.

This is where a block of flats could go. See below.
