Loss of Memory is the follow-up to Song to Self.

After the thrown-together-overnight of Song to Self, I decided I needed to record some more tracks featuring my musicianship and lyric-writing.

The words are pretty much where I am the moment - how I feel and think. Loss of Memory is apposite, as I do feel that I have poor short-term memory to the extend that it is a little bit of a problem.

For the musos amongst you: Loss of Memory was written and recorded using Logic Pro X. Logic’s inbuilt sampler EXS-24 supplied the drums and keyboards, with the ES2 synthesiser providing the bass. I play my ’85 Fender Stratocaster, including playing the highest note on the fretboard! Vocals were recorded via a Røde NT-1A microphone and audio interfacing was via a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4.

The video comprises lots of free footage from the internet, plus some filming by me using a Panasonic video camera. The ‘sea’ is the North Atlantic Ocean, filmed from the Queen Mary 2 during my crossing to New York this summer.
